I’ve been a fan of Aje since its very first issue. My love for the title has grown exponentially. The most recent issue was quite impressive to say the least. The art, though spectacular, took me a while to get used to but that ceases to be an issue once you dive into the plot.

Have you watched Black Panther? It is hands down, the biggest movie release of 2018; so far! It’s drawn mostly admiration and some outrage from people who’ve seen it, those who haven’t and those who think some people are being a tad too extra; the latter is debatable. If you’ve seen it, what did you think? Totally worth

I’ve always been a big fan of Newborn Saga. The talents at Peda Studios make true on their promise to showcase Africa in her former majesty and glory! They not only do this beautifully, they do so in the grandest manner conceivable!  Sparing neither effort in art nor plot, Newborn Saga has since Issue #0 (which

What if you were an African warrior that could not die, who would you sell your services to? This is what Scion is about, in a nutshell. Stanley “Stanch” Obende (line artist and creator) has shown consistency in the quality of his art and continually improves with each release. First of all, his lines

Comic Republic‘s Guardian Prime #8, where do I begin? It’s stunning and compelling. The art (lines and colors) is better and the story thankfully, steers further away from it’s Superman inspiration. The issue starts off with a supposedly off-duty GP playing honored guest at a Nigerian independence day celebration. He has the Extremes, (his sidekick

Orisha Pikin is a delightful comic created by Kiyindou Yamakasi which reimagines the Yourba pantheon of gods as children Picture Shango (the god of thunder) as the sore loser in a gaming duel against Obatala (the god of purity)! Now picture Obatala’s impassive face in stark contrast to Shango’s fuming visage coupled with childish outbursts (we

Vortex Comics are serious about exporting African culture though comics. It’s not hard to see why following the release of Eternals, the newest title in their repertoire. The first issue of Eternals is a soup of Egyptian, Malian, Nigerian and Ghanaian myths. It features Anubis, Dongon (as a deity), Sango, and several gods divided into

The first thing that sucks you into the world of Visionary: Ascension is the art. The art is magnificent; the lines are crisp and the colours are joyously precise. Promo art back in May spoke of an artfully crafted narrative, and the finished product did not disappoint in the least.  Visionary follows in the shoes
