Playing online video games in Ghana is an extreme sport if you’re using any of the 4 major internet service providers. Thankfully, MTN eases the pain by a long mile and it is by far the fastest and most stable provider.
Understanding it’s market position and capacity to implement change, MTN continues to innovate new ways to engage the creative community. Initiatives such as the MTN Apps Challenge and MTN Hottseat, a recently launched mobile game in partnership with Leti Arts showcase how much the telecommunications giant is invested in the tech and arts ecosystem.
In that same vein, MTN is launching a game developers conference in Accra, dubbed MTN Gaming Conference.
The world of video games is an economic and creative reality. Its possibilities are not limited to recreational aspects; it is an emerging industry in Ghana that can employ a multitude of people.
The rapid advancement of technology has made gaming available to the masses and this industry has become one of the fastest-growing segments in Ghana and the global media and entertainment market.
The MTN Game Conference is an event that seeks to bring together stakeholders (programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals and business decision-makers) to exchange ideas on the development of interactive games and immersive experiences to shape the future of the industry in Ghana.
The event will feature a series of informative sessions on selected topics in the areas of game development, sustainable marketing and emerging marketing opportunities taught by leading industry experts from Unity, Online Worlds Entertainment and Gameloft will help shape what would be the backbone of the video game ecosystem for Africa. It will also provide fantastic networking opportunities for stakeholders.
