Call for Applications: Virtual Reality Workshop at Alliance Française

Love Virtual Reality? So do we. Virtual reality as today’s emerging new medium is establishing itself across different fields, from art via marketing to filmmaking and journalism.

We’ve recently been playing around with Google’s Spotlight Stories app. It’s an awesome way to immerse yourself in VR films, especially animation.

While there aren’t a lot of films on the app, what’s available is a good indication of the possibilities that exist for this exciting storytelling medium.

For filmmakers and enthusiasts ready to explore Virtual Reality in Ghana, Alliance Française presents the perfect opportunity to dive right in. Alliance Française is putting together a FREE 4-day workshop on Virtual Reality.

During the 4-day workshop, Alliance Française Accra invites participants across all disciplines to explore and analyze the different technical and storytelling aspects related to the production process of VR content.

The workshop will take place from 10 – 11 June and 13 – 14 June 2019 at Alliance Française Accra. It will be facilitated by Sélim Harbi, a VR & Multimedia Author

Eligibility

This workshop is designated for emerging and established creators affiliated with the fields of filmmaking, visual art, journalism, design, communication, architecture and those who are keen to explore this new format. No prior VR knowledge needed. Free of Charge.

Only 10 participants will be selected. Selected participants will be informed by 28 May 2019.
