Parables Animation, the powerhouse behind the popular and critically acclaimed Ananse animated series has launched its new project, Mighty Joo: The Environmental Crusader, starring famed actor, Adjetey Anang.

The project is part of its environmental crusader campaign and aims at creating awareness of sanitation issues in the country using an animated TV series for children and a comic book.

Mighty Joo, voiced by award-winning actor, Adjetey Anang, is an environmental crusader who promotes positive environmental behavior among children and young people using his super strength and skills to fight off various enemies of the environment and promote a Clean Agenda

The pilot episode, Galamslayed highlights issues related to water pollution and its effect on the community.

Mighty Joo began with a strong desire to use animation and cartoons which has a strong influence on children, to educate them on environmental issues with the hope of contributing to positive behavioral change.

Time With Ananse, Live on Stage by Parables Animation Studio, creators of Mighty Joo

Mighty Joo is a new addition to Parables’ animation portfolio. The organization, which has focused on using animation to preserve history and folklore since 2007 has an annual show in December, Time with Ananse, Live on Stage where attendees enjoy life-sized appearances by their favourite comic characters and new releases from the studio. 

Time with Ananse, Live on Stage has been running for the past 6 years and is scheduled for December 28th, 2019. This year’s edition will see the premiere of Floods and Fire, another episode of the Mighty Joo animated series which tackles littering and flooding in the city.

The synopsis for Flood and Fire reads:

Kojo Balima, the self-made environmentalist will race against time to save victims of a flood disaster caused by the citizens’ negligence and improper waste disposal. 

The animated episode will screen at the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall on December 28, at 2 PM and 4 PM. Tickets cost GH¢30. Follow Parables Animation on Instagram for further updates.
