Annecy 2020 Submissions Are Now Open for Films and Projects

Registrations for submitting your animation films or projects for the Annecy Festival 2020 and its Mifa are now open! The Annecy Festival will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2020 and will also be spotlighting animation from Africa as it’s focus territory.

Annecy International Animation Film Festival has announced that registrations for submitting animation films or projects for the 60th anniversary edition, which runs June 15 – 20, 2020 and its MIFA are now open for film and animation project submissions.

The Annecy International Animation Festival and Market is a great opportunity for animators across the world to have their films screened to thousands of animation enthusiasts and professionals, and a great shot at securing financing and co-productions.

Film Submissions

Below are the various categories animation directors can submit their films into at Annecy.

  • Short Films
  • Feature Films
  • TV Films
  • Commissioned Films
  • Graduation Films
  • VR Works

Deadline for submitting to the Short Films, TV Films, Commissioned and Graduation Films categories is 15th February 2020, while the deadline for submitting for Feature Films is March 15th, 2020 and VR Works, 6th April 2020.

Film Project Submissions/ MIFA Pitches

Are you an animation film project leader? The Annecy International Animation Film Market is the perfect place to be noticed by professionals, but also by partners or financial investors. Submit your project to be able to present it at the Mifa Pitches.

Animation project submissions must be received by February 5, 2020 for the following categories:

  • Short Films
  • Feature Films
  • TV Series & Specials
  • Digital Experiences
  • Animation du Monde (open to all formats, but reserved to emerging animation territories like countries within Africa and South America. See the list of eligible countries in the Animation du Monde regulations).

You can also directly submit to Animation du Monde category here.

Please note: Web series projects can compete in the TV Series and Specials category.

Festival International du Film d’Animation d’Annecy was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998.
